The Barnabe Peak Loop is known as the best all-around trail experience within Samuel P. Taylor State Park. This state park is a great alternative to its sister park Point Reyes National Seashore. While campgrounds are commonly full at Samuel P. Taylor, the trails are generally not crowded, even on weekends. Those who arrive early are afforded rare solitude in an otherwise packed Marin County trail system.
